West Indies tour Australia from December 18, 2026 to February 7, 2027 for the Frank Worrell Trophy and a white-ball series. The tour spans the Australian summer's second half, with two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is. The Test series counts toward the 2025-27 WTC cycle for both nations. The 19-day gap between the second Test (ending December 30 if it goes the distance) and the first ODI (January 16) is unusually long. The gap accommodates the Australian Big Bash League's final-fortnight scheduling, in which several Australian Test players also feature.

Venue tactical notes

The Gabba: traditionally Australia's fortress for pace bowling. Day-night Test under pink ball is the second WI pink-ball Test in Australia since 2015. Pace bowlers dominate the first two days; spinners come into play day 3-4.

MCG: Boxing Day Test. The biggest cricket crowd in Australian summer. Pitch typically offers something for everyone: pace early, spin later. The 80,000+ crowd on day 1 is the marquee experience of the tour.

SCG: ODI venue. Average scoring 280-310. Spin from over 25.

Adelaide Oval: ODI venue. Drop-in pitch with consistent pace and bounce. Scoring 290-320.

Optus Stadium: ODI venue. Most pace-friendly of the three; scoring 270-300.

GMHBA Stadium, Geelong: T20I venue with smaller dimensions than the MCG. Scoring 175-200.

Manuka Oval, Canberra: T20I venue with the slowest outfield of the three. Scoring 160-180.

Marvel Stadium, Melbourne: T20I venue. Indoor capability if rain. Scoring 180-210.

Cricket Australia released tickets on September 1, 2026. Test prices AUD 35-150 (general admission to premium). ODI prices AUD 30-110. T20I prices AUD 35-130.

The MCG Boxing Day Test sold out at premium tiers within 72 hours. The Gabba day-night Test has approximately 70% sold across all five days. The Boxing Day Test is the marquee fan experience of the tour.

ODI tickets at SCG and Adelaide are 60-70% sold. The Perth ODI has the most availability remaining.

T20I tickets at Geelong and Canberra have strong availability. The Marvel Stadium finale is 85% sold.

International fan tickets through CA fan portal include an AUD 8 facilitation fee.

What to expect tactically

West Indies' Test side: led by captain Shai Hope (batting) with Nicholas Pooran (white-ball captain joins the squad for white-ball matches). Top-order batting around Kraigg Brathwaite, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, and Roston Chase. The middle order leans on Justin Greaves and Jermaine Blackwood's consistency.
