The eight venues

Lord's (London Spirit), the Oval (Oval Invincibles), Old Trafford (Manchester Originals), Headingley (Northern Superchargers), Edgbaston (Birmingham Phoenix), Trent Bridge (Trent Rockets), the Rose Bowl (Southern Brave), Sophia Gardens (Welsh Fire). Old Trafford hosts the most fixtures with Manchester defending.

The private-investor era

Since 2025, all eight franchises are privately owned. London Spirit was acquired by an Indian-Tech consortium for £145M. Oval Invincibles by a Reliance-backed group. Manchester Originals by Lancashire CCC. The new ownership has pushed for more international name signings. Total player budget per franchise has risen by 60%.

Welsh Fire women's defending
