The Hundred 2026 starts August 7 and runs to August 30 at eight English venues. This is the first edition under the new private-investor ownership structure, with all eight franchises now privately held. The format remains 100 balls per side. Manchester Originals defend the men's title. Welsh Fire defends the women's. Here is the fixture list.

Tournament window

August 7 to August 30, 2026. 32 men's matches and 32 women's matches across 23 days. Double-header format on weekends with the women's game first, men's second. Eliminator and Final at Lord's on August 29-30.

The eight venues

Lord's (London Spirit), the Oval (Oval Invincibles), Old Trafford (Manchester Originals), Headingley (Northern Superchargers), Edgbaston (Birmingham Phoenix), Trent Bridge (Trent Rockets), the Rose Bowl (Southern Brave), Sophia Gardens (Welsh Fire). Old Trafford hosts the most fixtures with Manchester defending.

The private-investor era

Since 2025, all eight franchises are privately owned. London Spirit was acquired by an Indian-Tech consortium for £145M. Oval Invincibles by a Reliance-backed group. Manchester Originals by Lancashire CCC. The new ownership has pushed for more international name signings. Total player budget per franchise has risen by 60%.

Marquee signings

Pat Cummins (Oval Invincibles), Babar Azam (Birmingham Phoenix), Mitchell Starc (London Spirit), Quinton de Kock (Manchester Originals), Rashid Khan (Trent Rockets), Andre Russell (Northern Superchargers), Sunil Narine (Welsh Fire), Heinrich Klaasen (Southern Brave). Eight marquee names, eight franchises, one per side.

Manchester Originals defending

Defending champions Manchester Originals open at Old Trafford against Oval Invincibles on August 7. Their core — Phil Salt, Jos Buttler (assuming IPL release), Tom Hartley, and the new captain Liam Livingstone. Buttler's availability after the India tour is the bubble factor.

Welsh Fire women's defending

Welsh Fire women's side, led by Tammy Beaumont, defends the women's title. Their core — Beaumont, Sophia Dunkley, Hayley Matthews, Sophie Ecclestone. The women's side opens at Sophia Gardens August 7.

Broadcast deal

Sky Sports holds the global rights. JioHotstar for India. Free-to-air highlights on BBC. The Final on August 30 is in Lord's prime time with the BBC1 broadcast. Streaming free on the Hundred app for UK viewers.

Stakes for England players

The Hundred is the only domestic August window for English players. Ben Stokes plays his fitness curve here. Joe Root plays Trent Rockets. Harry Brook plays Manchester Originals. The Hundred form decides the post-tournament Pakistan Test series squad.

What to watch next: The Hundred 2026 men's eliminator August 29 and the women's Final August 30.
