The Caribbean Premier League 2026 runs August 30 to September 27. Six teams, 34 matches, the playoff week at Providence Stadium, Guyana. The CPL faces a scheduling crunch with The Hundred 2026 ending August 30 and the Asia Cup-W also running through the window. Here is the schedule decode.
Tournament window
August 30 to September 27, 2026. Opening match at Providence Stadium, Guyana. League stage runs three weeks. Playoff week at Providence — Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2, Final. The Final on September 27.
The six teams
Trinbago Knight Riders (defending champions), Guyana Amazon Warriors, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Barbados Royals, Saint Lucia Kings, Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. The Falcons replace the dropped Jamaica Tallawahs after the 2025 ownership dispute.
Venues
Providence Stadium (Guyana), Brian Lara Stadium (Trinidad), Warner Park (St Kitts), Kensington Oval (Barbados), Daren Sammy Stadium (St Lucia), Coolidge Cricket Ground (Antigua). The playoff week is all at Providence, Guyana, for broadcast logistics.
Pooran-Russell scheduling impact
Nicholas Pooran plays MLC for SF Unicorns through June. He then plays The Hundred for Welsh Fire August 7-30. He then plays CPL for Trinbago August 30 onwards. The back-to-back schedule means he'll get five rest days. Andre Russell plays MLC for LA Knight Riders, then The Hundred for Northern Superchargers, then CPL for Trinbago. Both will be stretched thin.
Marquee local players
Kieron Pollard (Trinbago), Shai Hope (Guyana), Shimron Hetmyer (Guyana), Jason Holder (Barbados), Roston Chase (Saint Lucia), Sherfane Rutherford (Guyana), Romario Shepherd (Trinbago), Akeal Hosein (Trinbago).
International signings
Each franchise can sign four overseas. Trinbago picks David Miller and Sunil Narine (associates have Narine's clearance). Guyana picks Imad Wasim and Tabraiz Shamsi. Barbados picks Mitchell Owen and Wanindu Hasaranga. Saint Lucia picks Faf du Plessis (rumour) and Tim Seifert. The marquee mix favours leg-spin and Caribbean local seam.
Broadcast deal
JioHotstar holds the Indian rights (Star Sports prime time slot). Fox Cricket for Australia. Sky Sports for UK. Free streaming on the CPL app for the Caribbean. The Final on September 27 will be in the 7:30 PM AST (5:00 AM IST) slot.
Stakes ahead of Women's T20 WC 2026
The CPL window runs late September, overlapping with the Women's T20 WC 2026 buildup. West Indies men's cricketers play CPL through September 27. West Indies women's prep team starts the WC build-up September 15. The men's side won't play the senior West Indies bilateral fixture in October.
What to watch next: CPL 2026 final September 27 and the West Indies T20I selection for the Pakistan tour October.
